Cat Island

                    Did you know that there are separate islands for cats!

There are about 12 islands of the coast of Southern Japan in the Pacific Ocean. They are commonly called as Cat Island. Two of them are important islands that are Itachi Kojima and Oshima. In this island, silk was produced in ancient times. The Japanese first bred cats to kill rats, the main enemy of silk production. Now only fisherman live there.They bred cats to distory the rats that were damaging their boats.But, currently there are more cats than humans where humans migrate to the city for work.
